    Given the apparent problems mentioned on the net with regards to running Diablo II under Windows 7, I was apprehensive whether or not this version was truly Windows 7 compatible. I therefore took a chance in buying this from Amazon. Quite simply, this version runs perfectly under Windows 7 64-bit Pro and also in User Mode. The only time you need to enter administrative mode is during installation, and then only briefly to authorise installation of some system files i.e. you do not need to run the game in admin mode. As further confirmation, the box packaging also states the system reqts as Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 (had Amazon provided the photo image of the back of the box then seeing this info would have allayed some fears!). I can't vouch for Windows Vista compatibilty, but the signs do look good!
    Also, the 'Lords of Destruction' expansion disk is included in the box, and it installs (under Win 7 again) very cleanly, after installing the 3-disk Diablo II base... Read more

    I have played this game on and off since its release, and have to say it is totally fantastic, and very, very addictive. I have played it on battle.net and solo mode, and enjoyed them both, although online is just slightly better, i have made most of the characters in the game, (except paladin), and have spent many hours treasure hunting and monster killing.

    There are three types of online play, ladder, non ladder, and hardcore, although i have never played hardcore characters, the necromancer is my favourite character, there is so many ways to make your character (and the secret cow level is a hoot as well). Diablo II (PC DVD)
