There is a cash shop however for the more frivolous of gamers out there to spend their money on cosmetic items and various boosts to develop their character quicker using "Gems". It is important to note that all these cash shop items can also be obtained within the game as well by changing game currency. Pre-Purchase allows entry into the beta and a 3 day headstart and it's 49.99 on the NCSoft site but here it's 79.99 (at time of writing). If you forego the 3 day headstart and buy the standard edition from Amazon, you only pay 34.99 I shan't be paying an extra 15 for 3 days headstart and certainly not an extra $45 from "Hot market" LOL Even more funny, when I talk to a German friend, who has pre-purchased through Amazon.de, he only had to pay about 5 more for this than the standard edition. Similar story from friends I play with in USA too... As I say, the pricing structure is crazy! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful By = Fun: This review is from: Guild Wars 2: Pre-Purchase - Standard Edition (PC) (License) After just finishing participating in my second beta weekend I feel I can finally write a review about the state of the game at the moment. Now I don't normally write reviews especially about a mmo (because there are so many out there) but I will give it ago so new and veteran mmo players get a rough feel for it.The environments in the game for lack of a better word are HUGE, so much so I found myself getting lost, falling of the beaten track and finding some real amazing game experiences from dynamic events to jumping puzzles to mention a few . You can see a lot of time has been put into the game in regards to this and it has paid off. Graphics on the game look very good from the shadows to the lighting affects all the way through to towns and landscapes. The character creator is good giving a lot of options to play around with your characters. They have done a lot of optimising since the first beta so it ran a lot better on my machine the second time around so by... Read more |
